Apothecary is a Unity Virtual Reality project that I worked on in 2018/2019 which has the player creating potions for various customers that come into the shop. Think of it a little like those games that you could play online where you had to make burgers or something, like that but in VR and you have to combine potions together to create the correct one.
Apothecary is a VR project that I created in my second year at University. I wanted to delve into Virtual Reality technologies as the industry is perfecting VR and I want to explore the potential of what can be created.
The video here is showing a project that I have been working on which I named "Apothecary"during development.
The premise of the story is that you are a wizard that wants to become the best wizard in the land but in order to get to wizard school you need to make potions for the local people in the Apothecary shop you inherited from your grandfather.
The game takes place in this one room which I designed and created with some of my own assets and some i procured to fit the theme of the game. The mechanics are that you combine different ingredients into a cauldron to create the potions for the customers. As i created this as a university project, to save time on coding I used a potion system from the Unity asset store that gave me the correct mechanic for the game.
All in all i'd say that this project is the one I am most proud of in terms as an all together VR experience as well as a great view at what I can do from a level design/environment design perspective.
I am actively learning how to code in C# for Unity projects as well as using blueprints in UE4, this is just one example of how I used some of my own scripting in Apothecary to get the potions to combine properly inside the cauldron. I needed them to combine the colours of the potions going in by combining their RGB values. I did run into a problem with this as it would take a direct route which w
